{{ 'About' | translate }} Apple Tree Auction Center

Sam Schnaidt (Founder/President) grew up in a home of long time antique and automobile collectors. Sam started collecting at the age of 12, buying his first antique car at auction, a 1926 coupe, for $20.00. He collected antique toys as a teenager, many of which are on display at the auction house today. Sam and his wife, Heidi, have bought, sold, and collected antiques for almost 50 years. Sam graduated from Ohio University and Reppert School of Auctioneering in 1963.

Sam and Heidi were joined at Apple Tree by their son, David, in 1993. David filled Apple Tree with his great enthusiasm and expertise until he lost a brave battle with cancer in 2013.

Sam and Heidi's daughter, Debbie Schnaidt-Allen (Vice President) grew up going on antique buying trips that were thinly disguised as family vacations. She loves the warmth, patina, and history of antiques. She grew up with a grandmother that collected antique dolls, and loves that she still gets to, "play with dolls" at work. Debbie attended auction school in 1994, and has now assumed management and auctioneering duties at Apple Tree. Debbie has also implemented a new auction program. Debbie looks forward to growing the business for the next generations.

Sam and Debbie are both very involved in the daily operations of the business. Additionally, Apple Tree has developed a very professional group of dedicated associates. We are proud of our team, and the expertise that our associates provide throughout the auction process.

Lillie Leonard is our very competent office manager. Lillie also acts as our title clerk for all vehicle sales. Lillie is also responsible for the extensive paperwork required for all of our firearm transfers. Complete ATF compliance is absolutely essential. Fortunately, Lillie keeps all of our records up-to-date for our federal firearms license.

Jacki Collins is a registered gemologist who has been a valued member of our team for the past fifteen years. In addition to gems and jewelry, Jacki is also very knowledgable in the areas of: fine art, silver, and textiles. Jacki is also a licensed auctioneer.

Joanne Czinke, Susie Stuart, and Louise Yeakley head up our cataloging and research team. While very knowledgable, they are also an exceptional research staff. They handle many aspects of both our antique and specialty auctions.

Larry Daniels, a gun collector and former gun-store operator, is always available to assist us with cataloging firearms.

Nick Cochran and Spencer Barker share auctioneering duties. They also serve as our technical support staff here at Apple Tree. Nick and Spencer keep our programs running smoothly, resolve our technical issues, and ensure that we are informed and up-to-date on all technological advances.

Tammy Martin leads our very busy household auction crew. Tammy is assisted by long-time employee Danny Helle. Danny, and several other drivers, are responsible for handling pick-ups for Apple Tree. Tammy also receives support from Barb Rhodeback, as well as others, as needed.

Our doll auctions have continued to be more and more successful over the past four years. This is due, in no small part, to Mark Harris. Our staff of Greg Graham, Denise Williams, and Sandy Laszlo are kept busy sorting and cataloging the wide variety of dolls we receive for these auctions. All while Mark travels the country, ensuring that we receive some of the finest doll collections in the country. Mark Harris also serves as lead auctioneer for these events.
